Basketball Game Preview: Pinnacle Pioneers vs. Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks

The Pinnacle Pioneers will take on the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pinnacle took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Desert Mountain with points to spare, taking the game 78-63.

Pinnacle relied on the efforts of Tyonne Brown, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 24 points and three steals, and Cam Hurt, who shot 54% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Hurt is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Alkhalifa, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Ironwood Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Pueblo on Tuesday as they won 75-57.

The victory got Pinnacle back to even at 1-1. As for Ironwood Ridge, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
