Baseball Recap: Whitko Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Whitko and Adams Central squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Whitko had to settle for second. They lost 17-7 to the Flying Jets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flying Jets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on May 2nd.

Riley Harman was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Whitko: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-13 otherwise.

With the loss, Whitko broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-14. As for Adams Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Whitko does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Adams Central, they will challenge Bluffton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Flying Jets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
