Softball Recap: Indian Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bellaire on Saturday, Indian Creek came back down to earth. The Redskins fell 9-5 to the Wheeling Park Patriots on Monday. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Riley Sadler and Emma Vok did some serious damage despite the final result: Sadler got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double, while Vok went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Indian Creek has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Wheeling Park, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 11-14.

Coming up, Indian Creek will challenge Toronto at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redskins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Knights have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Wheeling Park, they will square off against Steubenville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
