Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Machebeuf vs. Gilpin County

The Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes will take on the Gilpin County Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Bishop Machebeuf got the win against Clear Creek by a conclusive 9-1. Josephine Sri was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Gilpin County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Timberwolves a 9-0 shutout.

Bishop Machebeuf is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those four games. As for Gilpin County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
