Softball Recap: Kings Mountain Wins Going Away Against Forestview

Kings Mountain won the last time they faced Forestview and things went their way on Friday too. The Mountaineers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Jaguars. The Mountaineers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Maddie Huffman made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 20 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Hailey Dixon-Valez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Anna Wooten was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Kings Mountain's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Forestview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Kings Mountain is set to challenge their familiar foe Ashbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Forestview will take on rival South Point at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
