Baseball Game Preview: Amelia County Raiders vs. Nottoway Cougars

The Amelia County Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Nottoway Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Amelia County is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 16-1 to Buckingham.

Meanwhile, Nottoway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Randolph-Henry, falling 8-2.

Nottoway saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Albritton, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Amelia County's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Nottoway, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Amelia County skirted past Nottoway 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
