It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Escambia had no problem doing just that on Friday. They won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Riverside Generals 29-28. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Riverside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Myles Kendrick, who rushed for 112 yards. Kendrick got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 97 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Shermon Davis, who gained 151 total yards.

Escambia's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points per game. As for Riverside, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Escambia is taking a road trip to challenge Choctawhatchee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Choctawhatchee's defense has only allowed 11.1 points per game this season, so Escambia's offense will have their work cut out for them. Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
