Basketball Recap: Harrison Comes Up Short

Harrison was the 50-40 winner over Lewis-Palmer when they last played one another back in December of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Harrison Panthers were outmatched by the Lewis-Palmer Rangers and fell 61-32. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harrison lost on Monday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hailey Richmond, who posted three points. The dominant performance also gave Richmond a new career-high in shooting accuracy (50%). Another player making a difference was Evelisa Huerena, who put up three points.

Leading Lewis-Palmer to victory were Rylee Edmondson and Lauryn Graves. Edmondson scored 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Graves dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Edmondson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Brooke Thompson was another key player, putting up three points and three steals.

Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lewis-Palmer, their record is now 10-7.

Harrison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-32 loss against Canon City on the 4th. As for Lewis-Palmer, they have also already played their next contest, a 55-21 defeat against Air Academy on the 5th.
