Recap: Manchester Red Hawks vs. Conard Red Wolves
On Wednesday, the Manchester Red Hawks faced the Conard Red Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Manchester fell just short of Conard by a score of 60-58. Manchester's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Manchester lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Derrick Sheets, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jayveon Robinson, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Conard, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Manchester will be playing at home against Windham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Windham knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Manchester likes a good challenge. As for Conard, they will head out on the road to challenge Northwest Catholic at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
