Baseball Game Preview: William Penn Charter Quakers vs. La Salle College Explorers

The William Penn Charter Quakers will face off against the La Salle College Explorers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

On Wednesday, William Penn Charter got the win against Masterman by a conclusive 10-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Quakers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for La Salle College, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Cardinal O'Hara with a sharp 8-1 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Explorers, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Chris Cavalcante tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aimon Chandler, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in June of 2024. La Salle College pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for William Penn Charter, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
