Volleyball Recap: Gilroy Comes Up Short

Gilroy was the 3-1 winner over Christopher when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Cougars on Friday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-12.

Gilroy's offense was headlined by Nathaniel Dunkle and Sawyer Rogers, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Jace Rosso and his 21 assists.

Gilroy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Christopher, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Gilroy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against James Lick on the 1st. As for Christopher, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Oak Grove on the 1st.
