Basketball Recap: Alpine's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Alpine entered their tilt with Tornillo on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 64-14 win over the Tornillo Coyotes. The Bucks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Alpine found their leader in sophomore Colette Fowlkes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Fowlkes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Dominguez, who posted five points in addition to ten boards and seven steals.

Alpine was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Alpine's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Tornillo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Alpine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-47 defeat against Presidio on the 31st. Tornillo has also already played their next game, a 63-19 loss against Kermit on the 31st.
