Softball Recap: Hartford Triumphs

Hartford won the last time they faced Port Washington and things went their way on Thursday too. The Orioles came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Orioles.

Amy Keskimaki made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Caylor Hoeppner was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lauren Voss, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Hartford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in 11 consecutive contests.

Hartford's record now sits at 12-4. As for Port Washington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartford will challenge West Bend West at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Port Washington, they will take on Kewaskum at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
