Melbourne's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Centennial Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Melbourne's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Cottrill, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Melbourne now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Centennial, their record is now 8-3.

Coming up, Melbourne will be taking part in a tournament against Palatka at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Centennial, they will square off against Treasure Coast at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
