Softball Recap: Coronado Wins Going Away Against Arbor View

Coronado barely beat Arbor View the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Aggies with a sharp 18-7 victory on Thursday. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Aggies, too.

Aubrie Sisler spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Coronado got a massive performance out of Paisley Magdaleno, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was Magdaleno's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alohi Mundon, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Magdaleno wasn't the only one making solid contact: Coronado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Cougars are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Coronado has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13 runs. As for Arbor View, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coronado will host Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Arbor View, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Palo Verde at 3:30 p.m. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Aggies surely won't give up without a fight.
