Softball Game Preview: Lamar Consolidated Mustangs vs. Galena Park Yellowjackets

The Lamar Consolidated Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Galena Park Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Galena Park will be up against a hot Lamar Consolidated squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Mustangs put the hurt on Victoria West with a sharp 9-3 victory on Thursday.

Aubree Jones was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Sophia Lundstrom was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Galena Park got the win against Austin on Thursday by a conclusive 16-1. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lamar Consolidated pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Galena Park, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
