Basketball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Northwest Cabarrus's game on Tuesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victors by a 55-31 margin over the Salisbury Hornets. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Salisbury's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaliyah McNeely, who posted five boards and three steals. McNeely is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taloria Gaither, who had five rebounds.

Northwest Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Salisbury, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Northwest Cabarrus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-56 win against Butler on the 10th. As for Salisbury, they have also already played their next game, a 49-42 victory against Carson on the 12th.
