Football Game Preview: Grand Oaks Grizzlies vs. Cypress Ranch Mustangs + How To Watch

The Grand Oaks Grizzlies will challenge the Cypress Ranch Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Grand Oaks is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Nimitz by a score of 38-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Keilan Gause was his usual excellent self, rushing for 300 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Grand Oaks is undefeated when Gause posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. The Grizzlies also got a significant boost from Bryan Victorian Jr, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Grand Oaks was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 448 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Grand Oaks didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kevin Ross II. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game. Scotty Routon was another major factor on D, forcing two fumbles and making 11 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Cypress Ranch strolled past Klein with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 40-24.

Grand Oaks better focus on containing Peyton Thomas and Braden Baker as the pair were huge in Cypress Ranch's win. Thomas gained 176 total yards and two touchdowns, while Baker threw for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. What's more, Thomas posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Manny Leyja was Baker's top target, picking up 89 receiving yards and one score.

Grand Oaks' win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Cypress Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
