League recap: Hudson races to league-leading run for Canadian

2A-2 Region I District 1 recap October 22, 2013

Boston Hudson of Canadian ran for the longest rushing play in 2A-2 Region I District 1 this season against Spearman last week. Hudson's team beat the Lynx as he sprinted for 80 yards on the play and finished with 80 in all.

Canadian added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Spearman, 40-12. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

The Wildcats' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ben Arbuckle threw for 263 and 4 touchdowns and Sawyer Cook had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Hudson contributed 80 yards. Braiden Galla helped Canadian's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 90 yards.

He went 20-26 with 0 interceptions.

Cook was the best receiver in the league this week as Canadian bested Steve Rodman's team. Cook racked up 6 receptions for 95 yards. Galla helped Canadian's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 90 yards.

Canadian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Arbuckle has thrown for 2,235 yards and 26 touchdowns this season, while Galla has 39 catches for 607 yards.

At the moment, the Lynx are in third, while Highland Park is in second.

The Hornets scaled the state rankings by moving to 747 from 785 this week, the biggest jump in 2A-2 Region I District 1. Highland Park climbed the ranks as a result of besting Sanford-Fritch 21-14.
