Recap: Brookwood Broncos vs. Hardaway Hawks
The Brookwood Broncos's 31-1 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hardaway on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Brookwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Hardaway is ranked 105th).
Hardaway got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Akilah Shelton out in front who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The game was Shelton's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jenaiya Hardy, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Brookwood has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Hardaway, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Brookwood will head out on the road to face off against Greater Atlanta Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greater Atlanta Christian is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. Hardaway will be home for the holidays to greet Harris County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
