Softball Recap: Catholic Central Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Catholic Central can now relate to. They fell 7-2 to the Lourdes Academy Knights on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Avery Bauer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. Roselyn Nickolai was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Lourdes Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Catholic Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lourdes Academy, they will challenge Cambria-Friesland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hilltoppers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
