Vernon's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the High Point Wildcats. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 35-14 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, High Point still got an impressive performance from Jerron Martress, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 102 yards and one TD while completing 88.9% of his passes.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-2. As for High Point, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Vernon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-27 defeat against Mount Olive on the 10th. As for High Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-6 victory against Lenape Valley on the 10th.
