Recap: Towner-Granville-Upham Titans vs. Westhope/Newburg Sioux

The Towner-Granville-Upham Titans lost against the Westhope/Newburg Sioux back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Towner-Granville-Upham fell 61-48 to the Sioux. While losing is never fun, Towner-Granville-Upham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Sioux are ranked sixth).

It was another big night for Walker Braaten, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds for Westhope/Newburg. Braaten is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. Braden Bailey was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Towner-Granville-Upham and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Westhope/Newburg, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Towner-Granville-Upham will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Mavericks at 7:15 p.m. Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 816 points over their last 12 contests. As for Westhope/Newburg, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Ryan is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Sioux a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
