Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carver College and Career Academy). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Amelia County Raiders on Monday, sneaking past 67-64. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Raiders back in December of 2024, they had to take a 48-46 loss.

Despite the defeat, Amelia County had strong showings from JAQUAN PEGRAM, who posted 19 points along with seven steals and five assists, and MARQUAN ROYAL, who earned 22 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. PEGRAM is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was DAWSON DUNNAVANT, who had 15 points.

Carver College and Career Academy's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for Amelia County, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Carver College and Career Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-25 loss against King & Queen Central on the 4th. Amelia County has also already played their next contest, an 86-52 defeat against Buckingham on the 4th.
