Soccer Recap: Cottonwood Classical Prep Comes Up Short

Cottonwood Classical Prep lost against Sandia Prep back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Coyotes lost 4-0 to the Sundevils. The shutout was out of character for Cottonwood Classical Prep seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Cottonwood Classical Prep was without their leading scorer, Mathias George, in Thursday's contest. With George sidelined, the Coyotes had to make some changes to the lineup. Lucca Hamlin played for 25 minutes having averaged 12.7 this season and Kwazii Aguilar got 38 vs. an average of 16.7.

Cottonwood Classical Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for Sandia Prep, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cottonwood Classical Prep is set to square off against their familiar foe Rehoboth Christian at 1:00 p.m. on the 11th. Meanwhile, Sandia Prep will face off against rival East Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on the 14th.
