Basketball Recap: Glen Allen Falls Despite Big Games from Faron Friend and Kamden Tiller

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Glen Allen couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Landstown Eagles on Thursday. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Glen Allen's loss came despite strong showings from Kamden Tiller and Faron Friend. Tiller posted 22 points and seven rebounds, while Friend had 18 points and five boards. That's the most points Tiller has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase James, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

It was another big night for Zaevion Cleveland, who went 13-for-16 on his way to 27 points in addition to six boards and five steals for Landstown. Cleveland is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alonzo Martinez, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 assists.

Glen Allen's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Landstown, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Glen Allen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Landstown, they are taking a road trip to challenge Oscar Smith at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oscar Smith knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 games -- so hopefully Landstown likes a good challenge.
