Chris Henry Jr., Julian Lewis, Dakorien Moore, D.J. Pickett headline gridiron's elite.

The 2024 high school football season kicks off in 21 days and we continue our preseason coverage with looking at the best player in each state. Over the last two weeks we have released the preseason MaxPreps Top 25, an expanded top 100 and best team in every state.

Bryce Underwood of Belleville (Mich.) is the top-rated prospect in the Class of 2025 and is among a handful of elite players headlining our look at each state's top standout. He enters his senior year with 8,979 yards passing and 117 touchdowns. Underwood is 1,637 yards away from breaking Jason Fracassa's state record for career passing yards.

The selections for the four high school hotbeds — California, Florida, Georgia and Texas — feature Chris Henry Jr. of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), D.J. Pickett of Zephyrhills (Fla.), Julian Lewis of Carrollton (Ga.) and Dakorien Moore of Duncanville (Texas).
