Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Alter Finds Home Court Redemption Against Sycamore

There's no place like home for Archbishop Alter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Sycamore Aviators by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Aviators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Archbishop Alter had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-15.

Channing Hawes paced Archbishop Alter's offense, picking up 18 kills. Hawes got some help from Charlie Hart and his 34 assists. Alex Brand controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Archbishop Alter now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sycamore, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Archbishop Alter will host Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sycamore has already played their next match (against Brunswick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
