Soccer Game Preview: Cox Mill vs. South Iredell

The Cox Mill Chargers will venture away from home to take on the South Iredell Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cox Mill's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Cox Mill is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since March 7. They and Cannon finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.

Meanwhile, South Iredell's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 4-0 to Mooresville. The defeat continues a trend for South Iredell in their meetings with Mooresville: they've now lost three in a row.

South Iredell's loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1. With that draw, Cox Mill's record moves to 6-5-2.

Cox Mill skirted past South Iredell 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
