Preview: Polson Pirates vs. Butte Central Catholic Maroons
The Polson Pirates will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Butte Central Catholic Maroons at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Polson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Polson had to suffer through a rough 81-49 loss at the hands of Bigfork.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Anthony Lichtenberg, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Torrin Ellis, who scored six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Butte Central Catholic put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Park 75-42 on the road. The result was nothing new for Butte Central Catholic, who have now won three matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Polson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Butte Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Polson might still be hurting after the 66-45 defeat they got from Butte Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can Polson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
