Basketball Game Preview: West Orange-Stark Mustangs vs. Jasper Bulldogs

The West Orange-Stark Mustangs will square off against the Jasper Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

West Orange-Stark lost 78-53 to Silsbee on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 646th, while the Tigers are ranked 311th).

Meanwhile, Jasper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The contest between them and Little Cypress-Mauriceville didn't end well, with Jasper falling 52-36.

Jasper's record now sits at 4-12. As for West Orange-Stark, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

West Orange-Stark came out on top in a nail-biter against Jasper in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 52-49. Does West Orange-Stark have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jasper turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
