Basketball Recap: Winters Takes a Loss

Winters came up into this matchup off a tough 29-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bangs Dragons by a score of 54-51 on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blizzards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-45 back in December of 2024.

Bangs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Alqorum out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 boards. Alqorum is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games he's played. Wiliam Hinds was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

Winters has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Bangs, they moved to 9-17 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Winters will head out to face off against Ballinger at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bangs, they will challenge Roscoe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
