Basketball Game Preview: Delmar Wildcats vs. Sussex Tech Ravens

Delmar is 0-3 against Sussex Tech since December of 2014 but things could change on Thursday. The Delmar Wildcats will host the Sussex Tech Ravens at 5:45 p.m. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Delmar is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Indian River, who was ranked 14th at the time (Delmar was ranked 25th). Delmar lost to Indian River at home by a 33-19 margin on Tuesday. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Sussex Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Cape Henlopen, falling 59-21. The Ravens were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Delmar's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Sussex Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Things could have been worse for Delmar, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-21 loss to Sussex Tech in their previous meeting back in January of 2024.
