Softball Recap: Miyamura Drops Highest Score of Season Against Santa Fe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miyamura). They blew past the Santa Fe Demons 17-3 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won nine in a row.

ANDREA VINSON made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Miyamura let ALAYNA VIDAL and Shelby Haskie run wild. VIDAL scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Haskie scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave VIDAL a new career-high. Celeste Cano was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Miyamura kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 11.4.

Miyamura's record is now 7-3. As for Santa Fe, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Miyamura didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-5 defeat against Farmington on the 22nd. As for Santa Fe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-5 win against Bloomfield on the 22nd.
