Baseball Game Preview: Crestview Cougars vs. Hillsdale Falcons

Crestview is 0-4 against Hillsdale since April of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Crestview will be strutting in after a victory while Hillsdale will be coming in after a defeat.

Crestview will bounce into Friday's game after beating Norwalk, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Truckers 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 25, 2024.

The result came thanks to Gavin Barker's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Crestview's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Ringler, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hillsdale didn't have quite enough to beat Northwestern on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Hillsdale now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Crestview, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Crestview might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Hillsdale in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
