Michigan Lutheran Seminary and Valley Lutheran pushed the score to  20-4 the last time they played Valley Lutheran, but  on Monday defenses reigned supreme.  At the plate,  Kerin Gardner was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with one  run and one  double.  Addison Whitmer also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Valley Lutheran, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record  this season.
