Softball Recap: Michigan Lutheran Seminary Victorious

Michigan Lutheran Seminary and Valley Lutheran pushed the score to 20-4 the last time they played Valley Lutheran, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Cardinals came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 4-0. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Nobody will forget Ally Coffey's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Valley Lutheran's batters): she turned in a perfect game. Coffey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kerin Gardner was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Addison Whitmer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Valley Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Michigan Lutheran Seminary beat Valley Lutheran by a score of 17-1 later that day.
