Basketball Recap: Deltona Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Deltona was the 58-29 winner over Atlantic when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Deltona Wolves fell just short of the Atlantic Sharks by a score of 57-55 on Tuesday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Deltona saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kelsey Assent posted 24 points. Assent's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Rashelle Soto-Hernandez was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Deltona's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4. As for Atlantic, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Deltona and DeLand will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Atlantic, they will challenge Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
