Softball Recap: Devine Drops Season-High Score on Carrizo Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Devine). They never let the Carrizo Springs Wildcats get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Warhorses sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Tucker Traylor made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Yaya Rodriguez, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Skylar Blanton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Devine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Devine pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Carrizo Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Devine will head out on the road to take on Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carrizo Springs, they will challenge Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carrizo Springs is facing Somerset at the right time seeing as Somerset is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
