Baseball Game Preview: Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms vs. Pierson Whalers

The Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms will head out to square off against the Pierson Whalers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bayport-Blue Point will be strutting in after a victory while Pierson will be coming in after a loss.

While Phantoms fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They came out on top against Southampton by a score of 5-1 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Phantoms in their matchups with the Mariners: they've now won nine in a row.

Cooper Fuller was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Most, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Pierson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Center Moriches, falling 8-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Whalers were not able to get on the board.
