Softball Recap: Addison Knights vs. Hammondsport Lakers

Addison scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They never let the Hammondsport Lakers onto the board and left with a 21-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Bregan Jones made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Jones has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Addison got a massive performance out of Aleaya Vanzile, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and a double. Another player making a difference was Lillian Atwood, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple.

The win made it two in a row for Addison and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Hammondsport, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Addison will square off against Wellsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams will come into the matchup having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes. As for Hammondsport, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Seneca at 5:00 p.m. on April 29th.
