Elkmont takes loss despite strong efforts from Nyla Parker and Mckenzie Doner

The Elkmont Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Athens Bible. Elkmont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Athens Bible apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November.

Elkmont's loss came despite strong showings from Mckenzie Doner and Nyla Parker. Doner scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Parker scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. The game was Doner's third in a row with at least ten points.

Elkmont bumped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Athens Bible, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Elkmont will head out on the road to face off against West Limestone at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. West Limestone will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Athens Bible will be home for the holidays to greet Waterloo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
