Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Mays' Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Jackson came into Friday's game looking for another win against Mays, but Davenport Cox wouldn't allow it. The Mays Raiders secured a 70-64 W over the Jackson Jaguars on Friday thanks in part to Cox, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. His evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Germani Wilson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 16 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last four games he's played.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donaven Thomas, who posted 21 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximilian Young, who had ten points and six rebounds.

Mays is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Jackson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-4 record.
