Basketball Game Preview: Mojave Rattlers vs. Palo Verde Panthers

Mojave is 0-6 against Palo Verde since February of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mojave Rattlers will venture away from home to square off against the Palo Verde Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-17, which was the final score in Mojave's tilt against Desert Pines on Saturday. The Rattlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Defeat or not, Mojave got some senior leadership from Zeryah Stokes and Jac?Amore Fahie Fahie. Stokes posted six points and three steals, while Fahie put up eight points and ten rebounds. Fahie is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, Palo Verde came up short against Shadow Ridge on Monday and fell 51-40.

Mojave's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Palo Verde, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Mojave was dealt a bruising 45-11 defeat at the hands of Palo Verde when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Mojave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
