Basketball Recap: Winters Mill Takes a Loss

Winters Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 31-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manchester Valley Mavericks. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Manchester Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Penczek out in front who posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Penczek is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Fique, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Winters Mill's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Manchester Valley, their record is now 7-5.

Winters Mill has already played their next matchup (against North Hagerstown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Manchester Valley will face off against Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
