Wewoka piles up the points against Coalgate

Recap: Wewoka Tigers vs. Coalgate Wildcats

In what's become a running theme this season, the Wewoka Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Coalgate, posting a 59-27 victory on the road. Given Wewoka's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Coalgate is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wewoka got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Timber Carter out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Carter has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaniece Stephens, who scored 17 points along with four steals.

Wewoka's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Coalgate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wewoka will take on Stratford at TBD on Friday. Stratford is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Coalgate, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Strother on January 19th.
