Softball Recap: Foxcroft Academy Comes Up Short

Foxcroft Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Washington Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Ponies fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Ponies in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Lili Bisson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Foxcroft Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Kane, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Foxcroft Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Washington Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Foxcroft Academy will square off against rival Mattanawcook at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Washington Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Calais at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
