Baseball Recap: Priory Has No Trouble Against Westmoor

Priory lost to Westmoor on Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Rams. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

James Weaver was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathan Tuan, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Kai Park was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs.

Priory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Priory's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8. As for Westmoor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Priory will have a chance to go back-to-back against Westmoor: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
