Soccer Game Preview: Freeburg vs. Gibault Catholic

The Freeburg Midgets will challenge the Gibault Catholic Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Freeburg is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Collinsville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They and the Kahoks finished up their game with a 0-0 draw. The outcome might've been different if Jorie Manion hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited her ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Meanwhile, Gibault Catholic has been on a difficult stretch since their win on April 15. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marquette Catholic on Monday.

Gibault Catholic's goal came courtesy of Elena Oggero, who's now up to seven this season.

Gibault Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 11-6-2. With that draw, Freeburg's record moves to 7-8-2.
