Having just played yesterday, the Lake Marion Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Calhoun County Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Marion is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Lake Marion will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Timberland, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lake Marion claimed a resounding 52-25 win over Timberland. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

Lake Marion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zimarika Moorer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Moorer has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Teonna Allen, who posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
Lake Marion smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Calhoun County came up short against Allendale-Fairfax two weeks ago and fell 44-36.
Despite the defeat, Calhoun County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cassidy Pough dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pough has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Raniya Tyler, who had eight points along with seven boards and five steals.
Lake Marion's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Calhoun County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lake Marion has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Calhoun County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lake Marion didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Calhoun County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Marion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
