Softball Recap: Burbank Takes a Loss

Burbank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 31-27 to the Florin Panthers. Even if the Titans couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Burbank got a massive performance out of MARLIE JARDINES, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of ERYN HUNT, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Even though they lost, Burbank always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Burbank's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Florin, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burbank will welcome Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Foothill has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.17 runs per game on average), something Burbank will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Florin, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Johnson at 4:00 p.m. Johnson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Florin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
